TwistD Metal is a father and son operation specializing in the modification of cars, trucks, and rock climbers but in actuality, if it has wheels, we can twist it. Together Jeff and Mike Crain have over 30 years experience pursuing their automotive endeavors.

Jeff Crain has been an automotive enthusiast since the early 60's and has owned and modified several street rods.  Jeff's technical background includes owner/operator of a laundry mat, where he performed all equipment maintenance.  Jeff also trained Mike at an early age to assist in many of these repairs.  Jeff spent several years as an HVAC technician and now installs water purification systems.  Jeff's professions may have changed over the years but his love for the hot rod has not.

Jeff's interests have had a lasting influence on his son Mike, who began his pursuit of automotive excellence in high school.  His junior and senior years were spent immersed in automotive classes.  Recognized as having a strong aptitude for mechanics, Mike was encouraged to take his training to the next level by enrolling at Northern Michigan University where, at the end of his three years of training, he received ASE certifications in all aspects of auto and body repair.

Mike worked as a mechanic and body man from 1987 to 1996 until he was enticed into another profession by the promise of better benefits.  In 1996 Mike joined Intel Corporation. Intel is best know as the largest microchip manufacturer on the planet. Mike eventually became a senior Gamma Etch technician responsible for maintaining multi-million dollar tool sets. Mike left Intel in 2010 to chase his dream of owning and operating a professionally equipped auto/fabrication shop.

Now Jeff and Mike Crain are unleashing their knowledge together by offering automotive enthusiasts safe, high quality, custom built, Super Step Side sport trucks as well as full automotive service, fabrication and towing.
